HOTEL TIKAR

We are so pleased that you are here, we are Beatriz & Sean. I am from California and Beatriz is from Palencia, in the north of Spain. We both love travelling and first met adventuring on the East coast of the United States. After living a few of years in San Francisco, we came to Spain for “a couple of years”. As fortune would have it, we discovered the south of Spain and started Hotel Tikar.

Been visiting Restaurante Azul since 2006, never had a bad meal and always received excellent service. The garden setting is tranquil and the tables well positioned. Equally, the inside eating area is a lovely place to dine when the weather becomes more inclement. Back in 2006 also stayed for over a week as a hotel guest, treated warmly by everyone (both owners and staff). As the owners haven't changed since I first crossed the threshold of the Tikar I can only praise them for constantly maintaining their standards over such a long period of time. Just outside Garrucha you could easily miss it driving by. A must to eat here where you receive a warm welcome from Sean and his wife. A native American who now lives in Spain. Sean is wine connoisseur who has a wine shop in the hotel/restaurant. The restaurant is tasteful decorated and very nice. We usually eat outside in the garden which has a banana tree and small pool. The food is delicious and a must to eat here. There are music nights and wine tours organised by Sean too. I recommend the seafood chowder as a starter. We have eaten here a few times now and look forward to more. We've not stayed in the hotel though. It's worth booking!David BrimsonSeptember 8, 2023

Why the Tikar?
We are small, intimate and each of our rooms have a sitting area with a sofá and TV – just being here you are upgraded. We are very close to the large sandy beach of Vera Playa and fishing/recreational port of Garrucha.
